Venue & booking: Yoga Dublin, Ranelagh

We practise yoga because it makes us feel good – helping mind, body, and spirit. But what if some of our favourite poses are causing us harm? What if our bones are not as strong as we believe? What can we do to help ourselves while still enjoying our precious yoga practice?

We reach the peak of our bone density by age 30. After that maintenance is important through all the lifecycle changes, especially menopause when hormonal changes can rapidly affect bone density. This may lead to osteoporosis, also known as brittle bones, or its precursor osteopenia.

In this workshop you will learn the yoga poses that help to build bones, and those to avoid. Risk factors for osteoporosis will be explained, along with the warning signs. There will also be practical nutrition tips for healthy bones.
